sales, marketing, service and call-center management capabilities
of mySAP Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM) with
a powerful billing capacity for residential and business customers
as well as for other utility suppliers. It also supports full
rate unbundling according to local deregulation scenarios,
third-party and intercompany billing for the services of more
than one company, and subledger accounting that can process
the high volumes and mass billings utility companies require.
In addition to billing, invoicing, accounts receivable and
transaction exchange, mySAP Utilities offers key capabilities
such as energy data management, which handles the huge amount
of energ data that deregulation and the increasing use of
new metering technology demands; and intercompany data exchange,
which handles data transfer between retailers, distributors
and independent service operators. Utilities can use meter-reading
and consumption data for statistics, marketing and forecasting
as well as for real-time pricing. Users can also manage utility-specific
devices such as meters, transformers and control receivers.
The customer care and service tools integrate seamlessly with
geographic information systems, outage management systems
and SCADA systems.

approvals for appropriate review levels and automatic integration
to the work order. Customers in Australia, Belgium, Germany,
Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Japan and the United States have
adopted work clearance management to successfully manage and
protect their work forces.
Waste Management: The logistics engine of
this component manages such subjects as routes, containers,
service frequency, cleaning objects, properties and disposal
orders, as well as related processes. It also provides a resource-planning
tool for allocating vehicles and personnel to disposal orders.
The waste-billing engine can generate bills based upon either
flat fees or specific data, such as the number of services,
weight of waste or time spent cleaning a street section. The
invoicing and contract accounting engine produces invoices
based on billing line items and feeds the information to other
modules, including print-shop and bill-delivery systems, contract
accounting systems and controlling systems. It also covers
a variety of special functions such as installment plans,
interest calculations, deferrals, returns, correspondence
and outside collection agency support.
