Blue Tower is focused on developing AMR systems that
meet the needs of leading water, electric and gas utilities.
Through continuous development, Blue Tower has designed a
low-cost core technology especially for AMR applications.
Our products are based on proprietary data collision avoidance
techniques using Application Specific Integrated Circuits
(ASICs) of our own design. Blue Tower's AMR systems are employed
commercially at water, gas and electric utilities throughout
the world.
OFFERING
Blue Tower offers a radio frequency (RF) based AMR
system that can operate as a mobile or fixed-network system
for water, gas or electric meters. The "open system"
architecture enables utilities to continue using their existing
metering equipment to provide a cost-effective means of migrating
from manual to automated meter data collection. All of the
products are designed to use standard interfaces and protocols
to integrate quickly and easily into popular meters, hand-held
computers, billing systems and route management software.
The 900 Series Transponder, Blue Tower's Meter Interface
Unit (MIU), allows the utility to receive data from its meters
remotely. The Transponder collects data from the meter and
transmits it to a data collection device, which may be mobile
or fixed.
HandTrackIT is Blue Tower's hand-held radio receiver that
interfaces to a hand-held computer. It enables a pedestrian
meter reader to walk down a street and collect readings from
the Transponders via RF. The HandTrackIT system allows for
a combination of visual and radio reads, meaning Transponders
can be connected to hard-to-read meters, while other meters
can continue to be read visually.
FastTrackIT is Blue Tower's vehicle-based system. It is suitable
for denser installations of Blue Tower Transponders. The system
is easily mounted into most vehicles' passenger seat so no
special vehicle modifications are required. FastTrackIT enables
a meter reader to collect readings while driving at normal
residential speeds. FastTrackIT uses text-based data collection
software to collect readings and stores them onto the PC.
