FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
County of Los Angeles Department
of Public Works Selects Harris’ Advanced Utility Systems
ALHAMBRA, CA and TORONTO, CANADA. March 4, 2009 - The
County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works has selected Harris’
Advanced Utility Systems, a subsidiary of Constellation Software
Inc., to implement its CIS and billing application, CIS Infinity.
With over 10 million in population, Los Angeles County is the largest
County in the nation and contains approximately 27% of the residents
in California. There are 88 cities in Los Angeles County, each with
its own city council. In 1986, the Los Angeles County WWD became
part of the Public Works Department and now administers and maintains
five Districts and the Marina del Rey Water System. The Public Works
Department now services 65,000 water accounts for residential, commercial,
industrial, and governmental customers, with its main customer service
locations in Malibu and Lancaster.
The County began its search for a new CIS and billing application
for water billing in February of 2008. The County released a Request
for Proposal and evaluated vendors through a comprehensive procurement
process that included onsite software demonstrations at the County’s
Alhambra offices.
As Greg Even, Civil Engineer and Project Manager, reports, “We
carefully evaluated Advanced and CIS Infinity and found that they
best fit our technical, functional, and integration requirements.
We feel that Advanced is well-equipped to meet our current and future
needs.”
CIS Infinity will replace the County’s existing water billing
system which was originally installed in 1987. The new application
will provide integration to downstream applications such as the
following: Interactive Voice Response by TeleWorks, Lockbox cash
receipts and integration to the County’s Financial Software.
As well, CIS Infinity will provide automation in the areas of billing,
collections, customer contact, reporting and security.
“It has been a pleasure working with the County through the
procurement and contract phase. We are sure CIS Infinity will streamline
and enhance the day to day business processes for the County to
benefit its 65,000 water customers. We look forward to a strong
business relationship and successful implementation of CIS Infinity
for the County of Los Angeles,” states Peter Fanous, Vice
President of Sales for Advanced.
Harris’ Advanced is excited to begin its partnership with
the Department of Public Works and to begin implementing CIS Infinity
this month.
