OTTAWA, ON., July 12, 2008 - Harris Computer Systems (Harris) is pleased to announce that the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority (BCW&SA) has selected Cayenta financials suite along with its NorthStar CIS for utility billing. BCW&SA selected this system in order to meet its long-term business needs.

Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, located just outside Philadelphia in Warrington, Pennsylvania, is an independent, non-profit agency serving approximately 70,000 retail customers, and more than 375,000 residents on a wholesale/retail basis. BCW&SA was created almost 50 years ago under the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Act to provide water and sewer services in Bucks County. The Authority’s operating income is derived directly from service revenues from water and sewer service customers.

What started in early 2008 as a project to implement asset management eventually became a project to replace all BCW&SA’s core business systems. ‘With the assistance of our consultant we went through an exhaustive business review process and came to the conclusion we had the opportunity to achieve a significant return on our investment by implementing a solid asset management solution,’ said Benjamin Jones BCW&SA’s CEO and Executive Director. As the evaluation team performed due diligence it became apparent that it would be advantageous for BCW&SA to expand the project and implement a single integrated business system for all the Authority’s needs including core financials and utility billing. “BCW&SA chose Harris based on their end to end integration and proven capabilities.
