Fairfax Water Selects
Axon for Strategic End-to-End Business Transformation Initiative
Fairfax Water is
striving for efficiency
JERSEY CITY, NJ; January 10, 2008 - As continuing
evidence of its market leadership in the utilities industry, Axon
Solutions, Inc. (FTSE: AXN) announced today that Fairfax Water,
the largest drinking water utility in Virginia serving nearly 1.5
million residential, business and industrial customers in the Northern
Virginia communities of Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Alexandria,
has selected Axon Solutions, Inc. to implement the final phase of
a company wide enterprise solution replacement. This final phase
includes the implementation of the SAP® ERP application as well
as enterprise asset management and mobile workforce management solutions
from SAP AG.
Fairfax expects to lower integration costs by replacing its previous
combination of separate third-party financial, purchasing and work
management solutions by complementing its already completed Human
Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) and customer information solutions,
all provided by SAP. "Upon completion of this final phase,
we will have an integrated SAP solution being leveraged by every
department with optimized processes and real business improvement,"
explained Charles Murray, General Manager of Fairfax Water. "This
project is the foundation for Fairfax Water to make substantial
gains in the four critical aspects of our operation: efficiency,
effectiveness, quality, and reliability."
The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2009 and incorporates
a separate three month "Business Process Review Phase"
to ensure that Fairfax Water realizes the benefits available as
part of a truly integrated solution.
