BROOMFIELD, CO, June 20, 2007 - Innoprise Software, Inc. today announced that the City of Haltom City, located in the North Central Texas Metroplex, has gone live with the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Budget modules of Innoprise Financials. The new software will replace a legacy system that no longer meets the city’s changing business requirements. Haltom City provides city services, as well as water and sewer collection and treatment services to over 13,000 customer accounts within the boundaries of the City.

Haltom City wanted to take advantage of the latest advances in the field of computer software designed for use in municipal finance operations. The city’s existing legacy system had been in place since 1997 and utilizes a proprietary database that stifles the ability to access information across departments. “It was difficult to share information on our legacy system and it lacked any type of web capability,” said Joel Welch, Director of Finance for the City. “Our existing system lacked the capability to sort, filter and display information online. Monthly and other reports had to be created first and then printed for review and analysis,” explained Welch. The reporting capability on Haltom City’s existing system was very limited and extremely complicated and required a third-party report writer just to extract much of the information. City officials require the flexibility to make adjustments to financial reports in order to make informed business decisions.

“We are looking forward to using Innoprise’s unique data filter tool that will allow our users to make system-wide inquiries and easily download the results into Microsoft Word and/or Excel with one click,” added Welch. In addition, the City was also looking for a browser-based solution that staff other than primary users could easily understand. “Haltom City was looking for a solution that is easy to learn and use, since we are planning on increasing the number of users with access to the new Innoprise applications by 60 percent,” explained Welch. The look, feel and operation of the system is 21st century, not 20th Century with a new face. The seamless ties between Innoprise and Microsoft are highly efficient and will bring many benefits to the City of Haltom City.
