FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mincom CIS Solution Selected for Demand Response Test in Washington D.C.
Allows residential consumers to better manage energy bills

ORLANDO, FL., May 22, 2007 - CIS Conference- Mincom, a leading global software solutions provider to asset intensive industries, announced today that PowerCentsDC™ has selected its AMI-enabled customer information system (CIS) software solution for an advanced ‘smart’ meter project managed by Smart Meter Pilot Program (SMPPI), a non-profit corporation in Washington D.C.

The project, known as PowerCentsDC™, is the first of its kind in the electric utility industry to test the response of residential customers to three different pricing options of hourly pricing, critical peak pricing, and critical peak rebates under one program and promises to greatly benefit consumers in the District of Columbia. Under the trial program, residential consumers are able to take advantage of demand response pricing to better control their electricity charges by choosing to use less power during peak periods.

PowerCentsDC provides residential electric customers with smart meters, smart thermostats and demand-response pricing options. In turn Mincom's CIS software will deliver energy consumption, real-time pricing and timely billing information to PowerCentsDC's customers via these 'smart' devices and related web services and monthly bills.

Rick Morgan, Chairman of SMPPI, said, "Mincom's solution plays a key role in the project by enabling us to calculate monthly bills for our PowerCentsDC customers successfully and reliably using three different dynamic pricing options."

The solution will also manage the participant recruitment and enrollment process for the demand response program.

Rick Morgan added, "Choosing this solution has also allowed us to avoid major CIS customization expenses. Keeping costs low is critical to the success of PowerCentsDC project."

Stan Royal, Mincom Vice President of the Utility Business Unit, said, "The PowerCentsDC engagement is proof of Mincom's technical superiority. PowerCentsDC's sponsor, SMPPI, turned to Mincom because it needed a solution that integrated with PowerCentsDC's AMI network, and which would have a capability to alert its customers of the current price of energy and processed metered usage, as well as producing monthly Energy Usage Reports. It is satisfying to be providing a solution which meets these needs, requires very little modification and can be offered at a highly competitive cost."
