FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Harris Cayenta Utilities
Completes Integration of the ONLINE Utility Exchange
Providing Their Customers
with a Leading Edge Risk Assessment Tool for Bad Debt Prevention
WINTERVILLE, NC, May 21, 2007 – ONLINE Information
Services, Inc. announced today the completion of the integration
of the ONLINE Utility Exchange with the Harris Cayenta Utilities
customer information system. This integration will allow Cayenta’s
utility customers to have an integrated business tool to eliminate
bad debt at the point of service application.
Through its partnership with the ONLINE Utility Exchange, Harris
Cayenta can now provide an integrated real-time credit risk assessment
tool to their customers. The ONLINE Utility Exchange product will
utilize application data within the Cayenta customer information
system to verify the applicant is who they say they are, help set
an accurate deposit amount according to the deposit policies of
the Utility, access unpaid utility bills and disconnects from ONLINE’s
unique national Utility Exchange database and also provide any unpaid
Utility bills from other national data sources. Further, the integration
will allow Harris Cayenta customers to send their customer payment
information to ONLINE in an automated fashion so that their utility
customers that typically do not pay will be tracked from one utility
to the next through ONLINE’s national Utility Exchange database.
In the past, the financial burden of bad-debt and charge-off accounts
were spread across the entire customer base of the Utility. According
to ONLINE President, J.W. Blair, “With the ONLINE Utility
Exchange, we work with Utilities who are facing losses each year
and are looking for methods to reduce risk when customers first
request service. We help the Utility analyze the risk and set a
deposit level that meets their guidelines by utilizing information
from past payment histories, unpaid debts, and collections data
from our Exchange database. We are excited with the opportunity
to work with Cayenta Utilities and their customers. Cayenta provides
their clients with world class technology and systems for the Utilities
market and ONLINE looks forward to assisting their customers in
the elimination of bad debt at the point of application.”
Cayenta Vice President, Brad Atchison adds, “Cayenta is very
excited about the synergy that exists between our two organizations
allowing us to partner with the ONLINE Utility Exchange and offer
our customers a leading edge solution.”
