Utilities Launch Online Energy Software Offering Personalized, Intelligent
Energy and Bill Analysis
WELLESLEY MA, October 4, 2006 - Atlantic City

and Pepco, all utility companies owned by Pepco Holdings Inc. (PHI),
recently launched a new self-service option to their Websites, providing
their 1.8 million customers in Delaware, the District of Columbia,
Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia access to their bill histories
for analyses that will help them proactively manage their energy
costs.
Nexus Energy Software was chosen to provide its ENERGYprism®
Web-based customer service and energy bill analysis software system
as the basis for Energy Know How Solutions, PHI’s new self-service
option.
Energy Know How Solutions provides residential and small business
customers with a highly personalized examination of energy costs
for their appliances and equipment by end-use, causes for bill changes,
benchmarking of costs as compared with similar homes and businesses
and what improvements can by made to lower their energy use.
Michael Sullivan, Vice President of Customer Care for PHI, explained
that Energy Know How Solutions is part of the company’s commitment
to incorporating advanced and innovative technologies that can help
reduce customer bills.
“Helping customers cope with the rising costs of energy by
providing actionable energy efficiency tips, along with these innovative
tools, make up the major components of our Energy Know How program,”
explained Sullivan. “The Nexus software is a natural extension
of our program. When customers use Energy Know How Solutions, they
should have a better understanding of their energy usage, hopefully
resulting in energy efficiency and financial savings for them,”

ENERGYprism is based on advanced models that use bill history as
well as weather and customer-provided information. PHI has implemented
the entire suite of software tools available under ENERGYprism.
