FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
City of Regina Goes Live with SPL® Enterprise Asset & Work Management
Solution Provides a Common Platform for Asset, Inventory, and Work Management Across All City Departments

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 12, 2006 – SPL WorldGroup today announced that the City of Regina is live with the SPL® Enterprise Asset & Work Management (EAM) solution. The implementation provides a comprehensive approach to the management and optimization of the City’s many infrastructure assets.

As the capital city of Saskatchewan, Canada, Regina is home to over 190,000 people and covers an area over 118 square kilometers. The SPL solution will provide the foundation for the city to track and monitor its infrastructure assets both above and below ground such as parks, playgrounds, city facilities, traffic signs and hydrants, as well as the underground pipe system which is an integral part of the City’s water and sewer system.

Regina's Mayor, Pat Fiacco said, “My fellow members of City Council and I have an obligation to move this community forward. We have adopted a very aggressive capital plan that will lay the foundations for a sustainable city in the future. By using advanced asset management practices, the City of Regina can strategically monitor its infrastructure and allocate taxpayer dollars to those areas vital to maintain optimal service.”

Fiacco added, “SPL’s Enterprise Asset & Work Management solution will provide the City of Regina with a comprehensive picture of what assets it owns and their location and condition. By capturing variables such as cost, maintenance and depreciation, it will allow City employees to easily extract necessary information required to track, maintain, and protect our City’s built and natural assets for the benefit of current and future residents.”

SPL's enterprise-wide view into an organization facilitates improved performance, reduced operating costs, improved asset reliability and a streamlined supply chain. Ease of use, configurability and robust functionality enable real-time decision-making and optimized strategic planning.

“Our EAM solution has strategic appeal to municipalities as it’s specifically architected to handle all asset types,” commented Dave Mulit, president of SPL Synergen, SPL’s Enterprise Asset & Work Management Business Unit. “The City of Regina recognized this inherent value, and as a result will be able to improve performance and increase efficiencies across diverse departments through our single, integrated solution.”
