Select Peace 8 to Bill C&I Retail and Network Customers
SYDNEY AUSTRALIA, January 5, 2006 – ENERGEX
Limited and Ergon Energy's joint venture Service Essentials has
selected Peace Software's Peace™ 8 Customer Information System
(CIS) to bill and manage competitive commercial and industrial (C&I)
retail and network energy customers in five Australian states. ENERGEX
Limited and Ergon Energy are two major Australian utilities which
together hold more than a 10 percent share of the Australian electricity
and gas retail market.

selection process based on its successful track record in the Australian
market, the rich functional footprint of the Peace 8 product, and
a clearly defined product roadmap,” said Dave Thomas, Chief
Executive Officer of Service Essentials.
Service Essentials will consolidate all customer operations onto
the Peace 8 CIS platform from its existing network and retail billing
systems.
Peace will support network billing at Service Essentials, which
involves billing competitive energy suppliers for electricity and
gas delivery over ENERGEX and Ergon Energy lines. In addition, Peace
8 will provide Service Essentials with enhanced billing capabilities
for serving its C&I electricity and gas retail customers, including
flexible contract management and complex interval demand billing.

recording and billing customers.”
