Tasmania’s Electricity
Utility Aurora Energy Selects Peace 8 CIS
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, November 7, 2005 - Aurora Energy
in Tasmania, Australia, has selected Peace Software's Peace™
8 utility Customer Information System (CIS) to underpin its entry
into the National Electricity Market (NEM). The NEM is Australia’s
competitive wholesale market for electricity supply.
Aurora Energy is Tasmania’s government-owned electricity
distribution and retail utility serving approximately 250,000 customers.
The utility is deploying three Peace 8 CIS components: Customer
Care for utility call centre customer relationship management; Receivables
& Collections for receivables management; and Market Transactions
for market data management.
Scott Adams, Business Manager of Retail, Aurora Energy, said: “Peace
8 was chosen for its rapid implementation capability, best-in-class
functionality, and upgradeable packaged product model that will
enable us to stay in sync with software technology advances.”
Aurora Energy will integrate Peace 8 with Formfill’s aseXML-based
communications software products. The combination will provide Aurora
Energy with proven market compliance capabilities and streamlined
low-cost processes.
Peace 8 is built to run with thin desktop client and open systems
platforms. Its industry-standard JEE design easily integrates with
a utility's enterprise application architecture including middleware
or enterprise application integration tools.
Aurora Energy is the latest Australian utility to adopt the world-leading
Peace 8 CIS software product. Earlier this year, green energy retailer
Jackgreen deployed Peace 8 for low cost-to-serve, and Country Energy
won awards for its deployment of the Peace Customer Acquisition
component.
