August 2, 2005 - Prophecy International announces today that it has signed a contract for supply of Prophecy’s basis2 billing and customer information systems to PT Adhya Tirta Batam (ATB) in Indonesia. The sale was based on a turnkey project that includes the billing, customer information management systems of the basis2 Suite as well as associated hardware, software and implementation services.

The total contract is worth approximately AUD $700,000 over the next 5 years and is likely to be extended beyond the original contract term. Prophecy will engage its newly appointed local partner, PT Asaba Computer in the delivery of the various components of the contract.

As the water concession operator on the island of Batam, ATB serves a population of over 800,000 people with 120,000 metered connections. Their commitment to growth and service necessitated a total upgrade of their customer management systems, which involved a lengthy and thorough evaluation process. Prophecy’s proposal was chosen over the others by virtue of the completeness of its turnkey proposal supported by basis2’s enterprise functionality and our risk mitigation approach.

This project is Prophecy’s first sale to Cascal group, a worldwide water utility, operation and investment company jointly based in the UK, who co-owns the ATB concession. Cascal's core expertise lies in efficiently operating and financing water and wastewater companies. To date Cascal provides water and sanitation services to nearly three million people including in some of the driest areas in the world. Their operations stretch across countries such Chile, Belize, Mexico, South Africa, Philippines and the UK itself.

ATB is a water concession for the island of Batam and is co-owned by Cascal, a UK-based worldwide water utility operation and investment company jointly owned by Biwater Plc and NV Nuon. ATB is responsible for operational activities from raw water extraction, treatment, distribution, and customer services such as billing and collection during the concession period.
