City of Covington completes
CIS implementation with Advanced Utility Systems
On-budget and on-schedule,
multi-service utility goes live on CIS Infinity®
COVINGTON, GA and TORONTO, CANADA. July 20, 2005 In
July 2004, the City of Covington selected Advanced Utility Systems
as the vendor for their new CIS solution. Advanced is pleased to announce
that the implementation has been completed and the City of Covington
is now live with CIS Infinity.
What drew the City to Advanced originally was the flexibility available
in CIS Infinity for multi-service organizations. Jim Adams, MIS
Manager for the City, explains. “We are known locally as the
“Full Service City”, and for good reason. We provide
our customers with every utility service available at the City,
from electric to sanitation. CIS Infinity makes it possible for
us to bill all of our services, and easily add new ones should the
need arise.”
The City has a customer base of 10,000, and provides electric,
natural gas, water, sewer, sanitation and stormwater services. Consequently,
the ability to bill for multiple services on one account is a huge
bonus for the City’s administration.
Another important feature for the City is CIS Infinity’s
powerful rate engine, which uses extensive normalization of the
rate structure to allow for virtually unlimited rate configuration.
Organizations gain more control over their rate structure, even
its most complex elements, without any customization.
