City of Edmundston Goes Live
with CIS Infinity
Solution from Advanced Utility
Systems improves revenue management, customer service for electric
and water customers.
EDMUNDSTON, NB and TORONTO, ONTARIO, January 19, 2005
- Having outgrown their legacy in-house system, the City of Edmundston,
New Brunswick has gone live with CIS Infinity, the customer information
and billing solution offered by Advanced Utility Systems.
"We had an immediate need for a new CIS, and we wanted a flexible
solution that we could grow with" says Jeannot Raymond, Treasurer
for the City of Edmundston.
"In the future, we want to continue improving business processes
and service without a programming effort. CIS Infinity meets all
our requirements – better cash flow through an automated collections
process, better customer service capabilities, and detailed reports
on everything we do."
In addition to billing 7,000 electric and 5,000 water customers,
the City will use CIS Infinity to bill for more than 20 other products
and services including ice rental, restaurant fees, and smoke detectors.
According to Mr. Raymond, "The ability to take payment for
so many non-utility items is a great feature for an organization
of our size, because we are involved in billing many of the City's
services."
Patricia Sorbara, President and CEO of Advanced, describes the
project's unique challenges: "The City had very specific budgetary
and scheduling goals. We paid close attention and adjusted the project
plan to reduce their risks. It’s always satisfying to go live
with a new Advanced client, and it's an added bonus to see our flexible
methodology at work."
