Country Energy Deploys Peace
Customer Acquisition Software Component
MIAMI, FL., July 19, 2004 – Leading Australian
energy retailer Country Energy has deployed Peace Customer Acquisition,
a new software component available in Peace Software’s Peace™
8 CIS (Customer Information System) product. Peace Customer Acquisition
will enable Country Energy to process five times more customer acquisitions
each day to capture demand and expand its market share in the competitive
Australian electricity and gas markets.
Peace Customer Acquisition automates the entire utility customer
sign-up process; from the efficient capture of prospective customer
details, to tailoring the product offer, providing a quotation and
generating a contract. It also automates back office functions such
as customer enrollment, the provision of pricing components and
contract renewal.
Peace Customer Acquisition has replaced Country Energy's Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) system which previously interfaced
to the Peace CIS. In contrast, Peace Customer Acquisition is a fully
integrated component of the core CIS, designed specifically to support
utility business processes in competitive energy markets.
Patrick Cooper, General Manager of Information Services, Country
Energy, said: "Peace Customer Acquisition provides the CRM
functionality we need out-of-the-box, and eliminates the need for
separate CIS and CRM systems. This means tighter processes and IT
cost savings from supporting one less system."
"The bottom line is that utility companies have to match their
CRM solutions to their business requirements," said Rick Nicholson,
Vice President and Director of META Group, a leading provider of
IT research, advisory services and strategic consulting. "One
size does not necessarily fit all. Despite the fact that there are
many vendors that would like to sell a full CRM solution to utilities,
this may very well be overkill."
