Contract award for municipal
utility (SMUD)
January 8, 2004 - Terra Firma Consulting, Inc.
(TFC) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from a
competitive RFP for providing SAP Upgrade Project Quality Assurance
Review Services to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).
SMUD, with assets of $3.3 Billion and annual revenue of $1B, employs
2,300 people and is the 6th largest municipal utility in the US
serving 1,300,000 people and approximately 541,000 commercial, industrial
and agricultural customers.
The upgrade project consists of SAP R/3 v4.0B and SAP Customer
Care and Services (IS-U-CCS) v1.2 to R/3 Enterprise v4.7 and SAP
IS–U-CCS v4.72. The District has also identified a number
of SAP optimization initiatives to improve the District’s
use of SAP within the District. SMUD is nationally recognized as
a leader in applying advanced technologies in its quest to serve
clients, partners and constituents.
As part of the awarded contract, Terra Firma Consulting, Inc. will
provide review, analysis, findings and recommendations to the District
with regard to their planning and execution of the upgrade, with
an initial review to be conducted in January 2004, and other review
intervals through the end of 2004 at the discretion of the District
and mutual agreement of TFC/SMUD.
