FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UtiliPoint International Launches
New Utility and Energy Technology Practice
ALBUQUERQUE, NM; November 4, 2003 - UtiliPoint
International, a global utility consulting company with expertise
in utility and energy information technology, is pleased to announce
that Ethan L. Cohen has joined the company to lead the firm’s
Utility and Energy Technology Practice. “Ethan brings to UtiliPoint
a wealth of industry experience, insight, and innovation that builds
on UtiliPoint’s unmatched market research insight and unparalleled
capability to help the industry understand where it is today and
where it needs to go tomorrow,” says UtiliPoint International's
CEO, Bob Bellemare.
Based in Boston, Massachusetts, UtiliPoint’s Utility and
Energy Technology Practice will provide utility and energy industry
research and insight, strategic advice, market consulting, and management
consulting to technology suppliers and electric, gas, and water
utilities. “However, this isn’t the typical analyst
practice,” cautions Cohen, an analyst and consulting industry
veteran. “Given that our focus is utility information technology
and energy technology, we will be able to provide the market and
our clients with the kind of dedicated ‘market thought-leader’
insight and advice they need and deserve,” says Cohen.
The “market thought-leader” concept of advice that
drives the practice is emblematic of UtiliPoint’s mission—that
is to provide timely, immediately actionable, and value yielding
information and advice to clients and the marketplace. However,
the difference between UtiliPoint’s Utility and Energy Technology
practice and other analysis and consulting practices does not end
there. According to Greg Galluzzi, UtiliPoint Director and President
of TMG Consulting, “Most analysis and advisory firms have
ventured too far astray in their research, creating highly abstract
paradigms that do not reflect industry, business, economic, or technological
realities. Players in the utility and energy marketplace need genuine
insight, not hyperbole. They need facts, they need solid actionable
advice, and they need it now; in order to survive in an increasingly
challenging and uncertain environment.”
UtiliPoint International’s COO Jon Brock confirmed, “At
UtiliPoint, we are serving an ever increasing number of utility
companies and technology providers who need much more from the analyst
community than broad-based publications, general dated information,
and one-size-fits-all consulting.” Brock added, “This
new practice is a result of requests from our clients. Our commitment
to them and the industry is to provide the research and advisory
services they really want and need. They have asked and we are responding.”
