Competitive Energy Retailer Commits Additional 800,000 Customers to
Peace
Peace to support 800,000 Ontario gas customers
for Centrica subsidiary Direct Energy
MIAMI, FLORIDA; October 30, 2003 – Direct
Energy, a subsidiary of UK-based Centrica plc., is converting its
800,000 gas customers in Ontario, Canada, to the Peace Customer
Information System (CIS) for customer management. Direct Energy
is North America’s largest competitive energy retailer.
The browser-based Peace CIS is currently supporting Direct Energy's
1.6 million electricity customers in Ontario and Texas. The recent
decision to consolidate additional customers onto the Peace system
reflects Direct Energy's ongoing satisfaction with Peace’s
technology and people.
Bernie Gillies, Chief Information Officer at Direct Energy, said,
“The Peace suite is proven to support our large transaction
volumes and innovative product and service offerings.”
Direct Energy's Ontario gas customers will be converted to Peace
by Q1 2004. Once this conversion is complete, Peace will be supporting
nearly 2.5 million customers for Direct Energy.
