FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Systems & Software Inc.
Selected as CIS Provider by the City of Greensboro
COLCHESTER, VT, AUGUST 12, 2003 –
Systems & Software, Inc. (S&S), today announces that the
City of Greensboro (NC) will implement the enQuesta billing and
customer service solution to provide water, sewer, storm water,
and solid waste services to their 92,000- customer account base.
“enQuesta will provide us with the technology
needed to deliver excellent customer service as we progress into
the future. The depth of functionality enQuesta offers will allow
us to improve efficiencies in our billing, customer history archiving,
and revenue and consumption analysis,” comments Jeff Kimel,
Water Customer Service Manager, City of Greensboro. enQuesta will
also enable Greensboro to automate their work order and edit processes.
Currently, the City of Greensboro bills the majority
of its utility customers on a quarterly basis. They are in the process
however of evaluating the use of automated meter reading technology,
which would enable their billing frequency to change to monthly.
This makes the need for operational efficiency even that much more
of a priority within the new CIS. In conjunction with enQuesta,
S&S’ experience in bill frequency transitioning and interfacing
with AMR technology, puts them in a “strong position to offer
sound consulting on how we [City of Greensboro] should modify our
business practices to accommodate this magnitude of change, “
adds Kimel.
In addition to heightened efficiency, it was equally
important at the user level especially, that the new CIS satisfy
the need for quick and easy navigation without sacrificing drill
down depth. enQuesta enables just that. Presented through a browser,
users will not only have the ability to attain all customer information
in just one click, but they will also be able to customize their
portals to display information most relevant to their particular
work group.
As a complete solution provider, S&S assumes all
responsibility for the configuration and installation of the hardware,
operations systems software, third-party applications, data conversion,
training, and overall project management. “Single source accountability
is one of principles that has allowed us to be so successful in
completing all of our projects on time and on budget; Greensboro
will not be an exception,” comments Burt Willey, CEO, S&S.
“Their reputation in the industry is solid; we have yet to
find a reference or competitor that can dispute S&S’ success
record,” continues Kimel.

About The City of Greensboro
Greensboro was established in 1808 and named for Nathanael Greene,
a Revolutionary War Hero. For the first few decades of its existence,
Greensboro was truly a frontier town consisting of five stores and
three saloons. Today, the City furnishes water, sanitary sewer,
stormwater, and solid waste collection services to a population
exceeding 230,000. The City first established a public water system
in 1901. Greensboro currently draws raw water from Lake Brandt,
Lake Townsend, and Lake Higgins and it is then treated at the North
Buffalo and T.Z. Osborne Treatment Plants. In 1994, the stormwater
utility was created to provide a comprehensive funding mechanism
to meet the City’s needs for stormwater quantity and quality
management. Finally, the solid waste division is responsible for
the collection and disposal of solid waste garbage, recyclable collection
and marketing, yard waste collection and composting, and continued
environmental education for all citizens and employees.
