FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Office of E-Government to Send
Director, Mark Forman, to Speak at Hansen's 2003 Innovative Government
Forum
July 17, 2003 - Hansen Information Technologies
announced today that Mark Forman, Director for the Office of E-Government
and Information Technology, has accepted an invitation to give a
keynote address at the Hansen sponsored 2003 Innovative Government
Forum, August 10-12, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"The Innovative Government Forum is designed to educate government
agencies on applying innovative technologies to help manage citizen
services, maintain public safety, increase efficiencies, monitor
performance, and adhere to a growing number of regulatory requirements,"
said Chuck Hansen, chief executive officer at Hansen. "We are
pleased that Mark Forman will be available to speak to conference
attendees about the federal government's transformed focus on IT
management, their progress toward having a more productive 'e-enterprise'
focus and how changes at the federal level will impact local agencies."
Initiated by George W. Bush's signature of the E-Government Act
in 2002, Mr. Forman was appointed Director for the Office of E-Government
and Information Technology. Under his leadership, the U.S. federal
government has received broad recognition for its successful use
of technology and E-Government. Mr. Forman has led the successful
definition and development of about 30 multi-agency E-Government
and e-Business initiatives including the implementation the first
true citizen-focused version of the Firstgov.gov portal using a
"three-clicks to service" model that led Yahoo to recognize
Firstgov.gov as one of the 50 most incredibly useful websites. His
Firstgov.gov initiative was the federal government reaching out
to local governments. The website allows the initial point of entry
for citizens to connect with government via the Internet. Forman
manages over $58 Billion in IT investments and carries out the requirements
of the President's E-Government Initiative including a host of chang
es aimed at breaking down agency silos and creating a more citizen-centric,
performance-based government through capital planning and enterprise
architecture.
