Authority Goes Live with SAP in Five Months with ea's ServiceWorks'
Solution
FOLSOM, CA., May 14, 2003 - ea Consulting, a public-sector
focused Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) consulting and hosting
company, announced the successful 'Go Live' of SAP for Utilities for
The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
SAP for Utilities
combines powerful industry-specific functionality such as efficiently
handling meter-reading data with customer care and service capabilities
to drive increased levels of responsiveness and customer satisfaction
among water utility customers. The rapid five-month implementation
of SAP for Utilities was accomplished by utilizing ea's pre-configured
template for Utilities, called "ServiceWorks".
PWSA needed to quickly establish a robust system that could meet the
dynamic requirements of the current industry environment, while enabling
them to develop and expand as needed. "The SAP system not only
satisfies the Authority's current needs, it provides the foundation
for future technological initiatives," stated Greg Tutsock, Executive
Director for the Authority. Within the scope of the project PWSA installed
the Financial, Controlling, and Materials Management functionality
in the core system, along with SAP for Utilities Customer Care and
Service (CCS). SAP for Utilities CCS supports integrated customer
billing, credit, tracking, and collections functions. Kelly Sikorski,
PWSA Finance Director, noted her satisfaction with the project and
was already looking forward to the future, "PWSA is very pleased
with this conversion and is ready to move on to Phase 2."
Mr. Tutsock went on to emphasize the importance of assembling the
right team in order to accomplish that objective, "We have partnered
with SAP, Micronage Consulting and ea, Inc., each of which has brought
significant experience and expertise to the project. Integration of
this expertise played a significant role in the rapid conversion and
subsequent implementation." Micronage Consulting was engaged
by PWSA to assist them in overseeing all phases of the project. Dave
