COLUMBIA, SC., February 11, 2003 - SCT Utility Systems,
Inc., a subsidiary of Systems & Computer Technology Corporation
(NASDAQ:SCTC), announced today that Georgia Natural Gas has selected
SCT to implement the newest version of the Banner Advantage CIS
and CRM Essentials solutions in an application service provider
(ASP) model. The multi-million dollar contract was signed during
SCT's first fiscal quarter, which ended December 31, 2002.
After participating in due diligence exercises, executives at
Georgia Natural Gas evaluated the top CIS providers and made a
decision to continue with SUS. The implementation of the Banner
Advantage CIS solution and SCT CRM Essentials will provide the
technology tools for GNG to be successful in Georgia's deregulated
gas market.
"Because we operate in a new and evolving marketplace, the
ongoing evaluation of software and services solutions, as well
as leading-edge technology, is vital to our future success at
Georgia Natural Gas," explained Aimee Henderson, manager
of customer care for GNG. "We found SCT's solution to be
first-rate, both from a software solutions functionality stand-point
and a technology partner perspective. The new functionality offered
in the CRM Essentials suite will allow us to streamline our processes
and ultimately provide improved services to our customers,"
added Henderson.
"We are seeing a trend in the requirements of our clients,
both for those who are new to the SCT family, and for those who
have been long-time partners of SCT," said John Gregg, president
of the energy and utilities division. "What utilities and
energy companies want today is the ability to access and manage
valuable information in order to benefit their customers, employees,
and eventually afford greater cost-effectiveness through higher
levels of operational excellence. We are confident that working
with Georgia Natural Gas, and its customer relationship partner,
Alliance Data Systems, that SCT's commitment to these important
success factors will yield strong results," added Gregg.
