Advanced Utility Systems Announces
Another Successful Implementation
of CIS Infinity
Saint JohnEnergy goes live
with CIS Infinity
TORONTO, CANADA - Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced)
is pleased to announce that the implementation of CIS Infinity at
Saint John Energy has been completed and CIS Infinity is now live.
Saint John Energy (Saint John), the electricity services provider
for the 35,000 homes and businesses in the City of Saint John, New
Brunswick, contracted to replace their legacy CIS solution with
CIS Infinity from Advanced Utility Systems during the fall of 2001.
Implementation began almost immediately and the system was operational
in the spring of 2002.
Saint John Energy is undertaking a major upgrade in several of
its software solutions, including their financial software, Great
Plains, and GIS solution, ESRI, in 2002. These major projects required
a heavy commitment of time and effort from their entire staff.
According to Marta Kelly-Pitre, the Manager of Customer Service
for Saint John, and the key leader of the CIS implementation, “the
demands on our team have been high as we introduce a great deal
of change in our organization. The implementation team at Advanced
has helped to ensure the CIS installation has gone smoothly and
efficiently.” She added, “ in particular the data conversion activities
progressed extremely well, and the software configuration services
provided by Advanced have ensured our existing and revamped business
processes are reflected, so that we can operate in an effective
manner.”
Saint John Energy is currently the sole supplier of electricity
to the residents and business of the City, however the introduction
of wholesale and/or retail competition in the next few years for
the New Brunswick market is being contemplated. CIS Infinity will
allow the users to deal with this change, and provide high levels
of service to all customers, so that the utility is well poised
for growth in an open market.
CIS Infinity has also provided Saint John with a full range of
other features they were searching for. Dave Horgan, Supervisor
of Information Services added, “in the search process it was important
to us to choose software with a Microsoft SQL database, and CIS
Infinity, using database independence, was able to meet this need.
Features such as Advanced Reporting, a streamlined move-in/move-out
process, and enhanced collections features were all crucial.”

to CIS Infinity was handled without impacting on this reputation for

issues.”
