MALVERN, PA., April 29, 2002 - SCT (Nasdaq: SCTC), a leading global provider of e-business solutions, has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha, it was announced today. The contract is for services and software including SCT Bannerā Customer Management System (CMS), Customer Web Access, Target+, Customer Contact System, Electronic Work Queue, and SCT EnerLinkā BillGen. The contract also includes a ten-year agreement for on-going support.

The contract was signed during SCT's second fiscal quarter, which ended March 31, 2002.

Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha selected SCT Banner software to help improve service levels for its 200,000 gas and water customers in the Omaha metropolitan area. With SCT solutions, the District will be able to streamline access to account details for commercial and residential customers through online technology resulting in faster response times. At the same time, SCT solutions provide comprehensive management reporting functions along with improvements in billing accuracy and timeliness.

"The needs of our customers aren't being met with the system we have right now," said Darnell Sweeney-Evans, Metropolitan Utilities District's customer information system project manager. "By using SCT Banner software, we will have better online capabilities internally, which will eventually give our customers an easier, more efficient way to check their account information online. This is an important first step in escalating our customer service standards."

"We are seeing more organizations choose SCT Banner CMS, particularly organizations like Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha that focus on delivering first-rate customer service," said John Gregg, president of SCT's global energy and utilities solutions. "As the utility market continues to restructure, the flexibility of SCT's Banner CIS should enable Metropolitan Utilities District to adapt to that change in a cost effective manner. We are happy to welcome Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha to the SCT family and look forward to working with the District in achieving its customer service goals."
