SCIENTECH Launches North American
Utility Survey on CIS, CRM, Billing, and Customer Care
ALBUQUERQUE, NM., August 23, 2001 /PRNewswire/ - SCIENTECH,
Inc. Today announced it is launching a fully subscribed multi-client
research study of utilities in North America. The project will include
interviewing 1,500 electric, gas and water utilities in the United
States and Canadian markets.
At issue are the market dynamics for CIS, CRM, billing and customer
care solutions in the ever-changing and often unpredictable energy
market. Changing business models, deregulation, merger and acquisition,
Wall Street expectations and other business drivers are compelling
the utilities to re-evaluate their approach to customer interactions.
Technological advances in computer- and Internet-based service delivery
capabilities are also contributing to the accelerated rate of change.
This in-depth multi-client survey and report will include:
- Status report of the North American customer marketplace
- Identification of leading competitors
- Identification and forecast of drivers of utility technology
decisions
- Analysis of license sales versus ASP sales
- Evaluation of new market opportunities
- Latest service-delivery technologies
- Identification of growing/shrinking markets
- Overview of current pricing tactics
- Market size indicators and projections
“The changing dynamics of the utility and energy industry are precipitating
large-scale opportunities, and I am very pleased by the response
of industry-leading vendors subscribing to our multi-client survey
and report,” said Jon T. Brock, Director, Strategic and Competitive
Intelligence for SCIENTECH, Inc. “Our approach will be in-depth
and based on our insights as industry participants, with the goal
of adding to the body of knowledge that is the foundation of customer
interactions.”
“For a technology supplier to be successful in the energy industry
it needs a thorough understanding of the marketplace, insight into
current technology solutions and their providers, and a deep knowledge
of the specific business needs and challenges of potential customers,”
said Eugene Cawthray, Vice President, Chief Customer Officer for
Enlogix, one of the subscribers.
“There is a wide variety of information and opinions about the
current and future states of the utility and energy industry,” says
Denese Van Dyne, Vice President, Marketing for Peace Software, also
a subscriber. “SCIENTECH executives have real world experience in
both the regulated and unregulated energy markets, and as a result,
their ‘hands-on’ perspectives should be quite helpful as Peace Software
continues to broaden its market participation and leadership.”
The survey instrument will be built by the subscribers and the
draft report, available only to subscribers, will be available in
the fourth quarter of 2001. Additional subscriptions currently are
available.
