Anaheim Public Utilities Selects
Derivion to provide E-Billing for Residential and Business Customers
Leading E-billing Enabler
to Enhance Utility's Customer Care Capabilities and Web Presence
ATLANTA, GA., April 23, 2001 - Derivion, the leading provider
of e-billing enablement solutions for B2C, B2B, and small business
applications, announced today it has signed an agreement with City
of Anaheim Public Utilities, a publicly owned utility company that
provides electric and water services to residents and businesses
in Anaheim, California. Under the agreement, Derivion will provide
Internet billing services for Anaheim Public Utilities' more than
100,000 customers. By using Derivion inetBiller® to manage e-billing
processes, Anaheim Public Utilities will enhance customer care with
the convenience of e-bill view and pay at their Web site while reducing
billing costs by eliminating postage and check-processing fees.
"The new e-billing service is an integral part of our customer-focused
Web initiative to offer progressive, technology-based services to
customers while maintaining low usage costs that add value to our
community," said Melanie Nieman, spokesperson for Anaheim Public
Utilities. "With Derivion's proven e-billing system, we will
provide consumers with an easy and convenient option to manage and
pay utility bills while we improve our ability to respond quickly
and effectively to customer account inquiries."
Working as a transparent, secure extension of the Utility's Web
site, Derivion will collect existing bill data output from Anaheim
Public Utilities to generate electronic bills for presentation and
payment online while allowing the biller to fully control the application.
Additional software, hardware, or network capabilities will not
be required and the company will be able to provide customers with
a complete e-billing service without disrupting current billing
processes.
"Derivion continues to focus on biller enablement and excellence
in implementing e-billing technology among strong vertical markets
such as utilities," said Greg Rable, CEO of Derivion. "Anaheim
Public Utilities represents another aggressive energy company that
is leveraging our turnkey e-billing technology as a strategic initiative
to meet their customer needs and increase their presence on the
Internet."
Anaheim Public Utilities selected Derivion inetBiller, from among
10 competing e-billing vendors. Derivion will equip the utility
company for dynamic relationship management with multi-dimensional
customer care, and implement the technology to streamline business
processes, and shorten payment cycles. The company plans to launch
the e-billing service this summer.
