Colorado Springs Utilities Offers
Online Energy Information and Services
ATLANTA, GA., April 16, 2001 - Colorado Springs Utilities'
customers are only a mouse click away from learning how they are
using energy and what they can do to use it more efficiently. The
company, which contracted with Atlanta, Georgia-based Enercom, Inc.
To develop and install its online energy analysis and management
applications, has released the applications for residential customers
on its Website at www.csu.org.
"We want to provide our residential customers with information
about their energy use at times convenient for them," said
Kimberly Girling, product manager for Colorado Springs. "Customers
can visit our Website to access their account information, conduct
a do-it-yourself energy audit that provides personalized recommendations
for energy efficiency, learn the latest about our programs and services,
access a comprehensive Energy Library and much more. We believe
that adding these services is another way we can take a proactive
role to help our customers lower their overall energy costs and
increase energy efficiency."
According to Paul Conlan, president and CEO of Enercom, customers
are becoming more educated about the energy industry and are looking
for ways they can easily access information about their account.
"We've found that energy companies are quickly moving to the
Internet with interactive programs their customers can use to understand
how they use energy, pay their bills, purchase products and services
and much more," said Conlan. He added that the country is seeing
a resurgence in programs and applications that help utilities help
their customers save energy, and that one economical way energy
companies can help their customers gain control of their energy
bills is presenting solutions via the Internet.
