Major Dutch Energy Supplier Selects
Excelergy’s Billing and Customer Care Software
Agreement With Affiliate
of Holland’s fourth Largest Utility Signed Less Than 90 Days After
Opening of Excelergy’s First European Office
LEXINGTON, MA and UTRECHT, HOLLAND; February 28, 2001– ANY-G,
an affiliate of Holland’s fourth-largest power company, will install
the Excelergy Advanced Business Package (ABPÔ) for Customer Care
and Billing product in preparation for the country’s energy deregulation
scheduled to begin later this year.
“We chose Excelergy’s software over others because Excelergy offers
the restructuring energy industry’s most advanced system, and because
it allows us to provide customer care over the Internet,” said Ronald
Van Oijen, managing director of ANY-G. “The versatility of the software
will allow us toreadily handle Holland’s unique type of energy deregulation.
Our implementation already is proceeding very smoothly.”
Excelergy concluded the agreement with ANY-G less than 90 days
after Excelergy announced its first European office in Bristol,
England. Excelergy opened the office in response togrowing demand
in European energy markets for advanced software and technologies
dedicated to helping companies cope with the complexities of energy
industry restructuring.
In 2001, Holland’s market for “green energy” (energy generated
in environmentally sound ways) is expected toopen to competition
between suppliers and utilities. By 2002, commercial and industrial
energy users in Holland will be free tochoose a new energy supplier,
and by 2003 all energy customers, including small business and residential
customers, will have the same opportunity. The multi-year agreement
with Excelergy allows ANY-G to address all of these customer segments.
Mr. Van Oijen singled out Excelergy’s consolidated billing capability,
which enables ANY-G toissue customers a single paper or electronic
bill that includes charges for electricity, gas as well as non-metered
products and services, as particularly attractive to anY-G. In addition,
Excelergy’s ability to Handle the billing on behalf of many third-party
providers of branded energy products is key to the success of ANY-G’s
business model.
