FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BEA to Offer New Campaign Manager
for WebLogic to Help Marketers Create and Manage Personalized, Interactive
Marketing Campaigns
DALLAS, BEA eWORLD 2001 CONFERENCE, February 26, 2001 /PRNewswire/
- BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS), one of the world's leading e-business
infrastructure software companies, today announced its upcoming
BEA Campaign Manager for WebLogic®, an integrated customer management
solution built on, and extending, the BEA WebLogic E-Business Platform™.
BEA Campaign Manager will help marketing professionals create and
manage highly personalized and interactive marketing campaigns that
add new customer value and increase the profitability of customer
relationships.
BEA Campaign Manager will help e-businesses more effectively know,
keep and grow their customers -- one of today's crucial business
imperatives. According to a recent First Union Securities report
(Dec. 2000), customer experience is cited as one of the three key
areas of business focus and investment in 2001, along with value
chain integration and application management infrastructure. The
reason is obvious -- satisfied customers spend more and cost less.
For example, eMarketer, an Internet statistics provider, noted that
acquiring a new customer costs five to 10 times more than retaining
an existing one. And research from global strategy consultants Bain
& Company showed that a five percent increase in customer retention
yields a 75 percent increase in lifetime value.
Marketing executives will be able to use BEA Campaign Manager,
with minimal help from IT, todefine and deploy interactive campaigns
that target specific customer segments with personalized content
and relevant up-selling and cross-selling promotions. BEA Campaign
Manager will present feedback about the effectiveness of these campaigns
so business users can continuously refine their knowledge about
what appeals to their customers, and tune customer interactions
on the fly. The integrated customer profiling system is designed
tocollect information across customer touch points to make every
interaction with the customer, more consistent, relevant, and personalized.
BEA Campaign Manager's menu-driven user interface, sample campaign
templates, competitive price, and pre-integration intoexisting BEA
WebLogic environments will help marketers get started quickly.
"Campaign management has become a core business component
of effective customer relationship management," said Gail Ennis,
vice president of marketing, BEA E-Commerce Application Components
Division. "BEA helps businesses become better e-businesses.
With BEA Campaign Manager, we plan to Offer marketers a way toeasily
manage their personalized commerce applications built on BEA WebLogic.
Marketing departments will be able toleverage their company's IT
investment in BEA e-business infrastructure software toexecute online
