Excelergy Corporation Names Vincent
J. Mauro New Vice President of Global Sales
LEXINGTON, MA., January 26, 2001 – Excelergy Corporation,
the leading software provider to the restructuring global energy
markets, has hired Vincent J. Mauro as the company’s new vice president
of global sales. Mauro will direct Excelergy’s continued expansion
into energy software and information technology markets throughout
the world.
“After a stellar year of expanding and strengthening our client
base in North America, we were looking for an experienced sales
executive to direct our continued growth,” said Bill Mahoney, Excelergy’s
president and CEO. “With his successful experience directing sales
efforts for several major high-technology growth firms, Vincent
was an ideal choice to help our company continue to make significant
inroads in both North American and overseas markets.”
Excelergy recently opened its first European office in Bristol,
England, and within 90 days signed its first utility customer in
continental Europe (a related announcement is forthcoming soon).
Mauro’s efforts will focus on the overall expansion of Excelergy’s
client base in regulated and deregulated energy markets worldwide.
Mauro is currently expanding field sales resources in North America,
and is working with Stephen Prince, Excelergy’s vice president of
global channels, to tap Excelergy’s alliances with major global
consulting firms such as Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mauro, 40, is a longtime software sales and marketing executive
and manager, most recently serving as vice president of eastern
region sales with application service provider Corio Inc. Prior
to that, Mauro served as regional vice president for PeopleSoft,
where he was responsible for both sales and service for all PeopleSoft
mid-market customers in eastern Canada and the northeastern United
States. Before his tenure at PeopleSoft, he served as regional sales
director with Connecticut-based Hyperion Solutions. Mauro began
his sales and marketing career with Dun & Bradstreet Software.
Mauro holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from
Pace University in New York, and also attended Columbia University’s
Executive Marketing Program.
