Severn Trent Systems to OEM Broadbeam
Corporation's ExpressQ as Part of Its Worksuite Mobile Solution for
Utilities
PRINCETON, N.J., January 3, 2001 /PRNewswire/ - Broadbeam
Corporation, a leading wireless infrastructure provider, and Severn
Trent Systems (STS) today announced that the two companies have
signed a partnering agreement.
The agreement enables STS to resell Broadbeam's ExpressQ wireless
application server as part of its Worksuite mobile solutions to
its utility industry customers worldwide. This partnership strengthens
Broadbeam's global position in the utility market.
Severn Trent Systems is a software products and services organization
dedicated to providing enterprise to desktop solutions to the electric,
gas, water, communications and petroleum industries worldwide. The
Work Management Systems Business Unit of STS provides Worksuite,
a complete suite of integrated work force management products that
connect the office and field users of utility companies. Its range
of products includes Field IT™, a web-based product family that
enables field-based employees to make real-time use of data found
within office-based applications.
ExpressQ, part of Broadbeam's Wireless Platform, is a wireless
application server that extends enterprise applications to mobile
workers providing push and guaranteed message delivery, message
queuing, security and more, in a fully scalable platform that integrates
easily into enterprise systems.
The agreement builds upon the successes of several customers, among
the largest of their type that are deploying Worksuite mobile solutions
from Severn Trent, including NTL and Severn Trent Water in the United
Kingdom, and PREPA, the PuertoRico Electric Power Authority.
