LAKE MARY, FL., January 2, 2001 - BUSINESS WIRE - HTE Inc. (Nasdaq:HTEI), a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for public sector organizations and utilities worldwide, announced today that it has signed a contract worth more than $526,000 to furnish financial solutions to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

In three phases, the contract will deliver several of HTE's integrated financial, community service and utility management applications including Asset Management, Government Management and Budgetary Accounting (GMBA®), Purchasing/Inventory, Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, Business Licenses, Land Management, Customer Information System, Payroll/Personnel, Applicant Tracking, Human Resources, Building Permits, Code Enforcement, and Planning & Zoning.

"In addition to having the software with the features we needed, one of the critical factors considered in choosing HTE was that their software integrates enterprise-wide," said Steve Dorney, Lake Havasu City's information systems manager. "The city currently has 76 different databases that must be integrated. It's important that the financials software fully integrate with the public safety and community services software in order to eliminate duplicate efforts throughout departments."

Dorney said that the old system was very limited and required frequent updates. With the new system, provided by HTE, the city will now be able to integrate departments on one platform. This integration will enable the Information Services department to improve service to all departments while productivity is expected to improve dramatically among the end users of the applications.
