FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Professional Computer Systems
and FieldCentrix Offer Field Service Software for Utilities
Professional Computer Systems (PCS), a leading
customer information systems provider, and FieldCentrix Inc.,
the leader in wireless, Internet-based software for field service,
have partnered to Offer the first integrated mobile, dispatch,
and customer-care software solution for small and mid-sized utilities.
The result is a comprehensive software system integrating the
PCS Utility Billing application, version two (UB II), and FieldCentrix
FX Mobile software.
"This partnership is great for our customers.
Together we provide a complete field service solution that helps
utilities increase field crew productivity, enhance customer satisfaction,
reduce operational costs, and improve communication," said
Kim Ingerslev, President of PCS. "We have already signed
one customer and have others pending."
The combination of PCS and FieldCentrix's software provide utilities
with the competitive advantages of automating the costly, unproductive,
and paper-intensive processes associated with field service. This
integrated mobile, dispatch, and customer information application
automates the processes of communicating with dispatchers, receiving
work assignments, and completing service orders.
A field technician receives service orders on a
handheld computer. The service orders are sent electronically
to the mobile device by the PCS application. The field service
technicians communicate with the dispatch center electronically
using FX Mobile, so all information including service, meter,
account, and notes are automatically entered into the FieldCentrix
application. With FX Mobile, dispatchers know instantly and accurately
the status of each field technician and all service orders.
This product is a great boom to small and mid-sized
utilities. Wireless data communication to the field eliminates
the paper shuffle, speeds up operations, and gives utilities a
real competitive advantage. Field crews have immediate access
to accurate and timely service work information. Service work
includes: reading in a new account, reading out a current service,
delinquency work, and customer contacts.
"FX Mobile is the first application to take
a truly field-centric approach to field service," said Judy
Johnson, senior vice president of marketing. "The combination
of PCS's software makes it a perfect solution to help utilities
improve their bottom line."
PCS and FieldCentrix have designed this suite for
utilities that require integration of service/dispatch with customer
information systems. This suite is fast, efficient, and flexible,
and combines the power of the PCS UB-II application with a powerful
dispatch, service work, equipment tracking, and customer contacts
application. PCS is the first utility application to integrate
with FieldCentrix's software.
