LAKE MARY, FL., Sept. 19, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) - HTE, Inc. (Nasdaq:HTEI), a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for public sector organizations and utilities worldwide, today announced that Harnett County, NC has signed a $166,000 contract to license HTE's Customer Information System (CIS) software application. HTE's CIS enables organizations to Handle a full range of utility services, including, but not limited to, electric, water, and gas. It automates such tasks as customer and premise maintenance; service orders; processing of bills, delinquencies, penalties, refunds, and write-offs; and meter reading maintenance.

According toHarnett County Assistant Utilities Director, Steve Ward, "The new application will enable us torun a county-wide database that provides the flexibility toshare and transfer information with other departments. This is something that we've never had before and are really looking forward tousing."

Harnett County also uses HTE's financial and community services software applications, which according toWard, contributed to their decision toselect the company for the new contract.
