MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA; August 1, 2000 - Aquilium Software Corporation (AQQ:CDNX) announced today that it has been awarded new contracts to implement Customer Care & Billing Systems for Mesa Consolidated Water District of Costa Mesa, California and for Egoli Gas in Johannesburg, South Africa. The contracts, which included billing and cashiering modules, are in the implementation stage and are worth approximately $400,000.

"The contract with Mesa represents our first implementation in California and is the result of a concerted effort to service growing utilities in the western United States. There is a significant amount of activity among the utilities in California, searching for new billing and Customer Relationship Management systems and it is our intent to Increase our installed base" according toStan Tyo, Chief Executive Officer. The Mesa Consolidated Water District is located south of Los Angeles and services 24,000 customers. Mesa supplies approximately 20 million gallons of water daily in Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and unincorporated portions of Orange County including the John Wayne Airport. Implementation began in July with a planned completion date of November 2000.

"The contract for Egoli Gas was acquired through our partner, PSU International, of South Africa and represents the twentieth system installation completed by PSU. It is gratifying to have partners that are constantly looking for new opportunities and have created a brand name recognition for Aquilium products in Africa," continued Tyo.

"The Egoli Gas project is very significant as it is the first fully privatized Utility in South Africa and positions PSU and AQUILIUM as the market leaders in Africa. The largest shareholder of Egoli Gas is Cinergy Corp., of Cincinnati, USA. In addition toEgoli Gas, this year PSU have installed AQUILIUM at Zanzibar Electricity and are currently involved in a project in Botswana that will see every Local Authority in that Country running AQUILIUM. The Botswana project involves 37 Local Authorities and AQUILIUM are very pleased to be involved with PSU in what is believed to be the biggest project of this nature on the African continent," stated Richard Riddle, Managing Director, PSU International.
