Union Fenosa is Named International
Winner of Electric Industry's Highest Honor, the Edison Award
MONTREAL, CANADA; June 20, 2000 - "Confidence in competition
and excellence in embracing and succeeding in new markets are the
respective hallmarks of Union Fenosa" named as the international
winner of the electric utility industry's highest honor, The Edison
Award.

The prestigious Edison Award is given annually by the Edison Electric
Institute (EEI) to the U.S. shareholder-owned member and international
member making the most outstanding contributions to the advancement
of the industry. EEI announced the award at Electricity - The New
Millennium, in Montreal, Canada. This is the 41st year for the Edison
Award.
