PORTLAND, OR., May 11, 2000 - Rob Jenkins, President and CEO of Teldata Solutions, announced that the company is refocusing its efforts on those business units that represent future growth, namely, the AMR and Data Acquisition/Management Services.

With this refocus, it has been decided that the company's CIS System Implementation business unit, located in the Chicago offices, will be closed effective Monday, May 15, 2000.

With the closure of the CIS operations, only support staff remains in the Chicago office. According to Jenkins, "As best as is possible, the HR, Marketing and Sales functions will be absorbed into the Portland office which will serve as the company's new headquarters. The Los Angeles office will remain responsible for the company's AMR products and related R&D.

" This was a very difficult decision to reach,'' said Jenkins. "Teldata has very talented and dedicated staff in its Chicago office. They and their contributions will be missed.'' Jenkins went on to explain that the company is providing extended severance packages and is making every effort possible to see that the employees affected will be assisted in this transition.

" Often hard decisions have to be made in business to ensure the long-term success of an organization,'' said Jenkins. "We believe that our AMR and Data Acquisition/Management businesses have a very prosperous future. The restructuring will enable Teldata to refocus on
what has historically been its core business. We are confident that this action will represent a positive step in the future growth and health of the organization.''
