Honored with Edgerton Quality Award
BEND, OR. May 9, 2000 - Orcom Solutions, the leading
Application Service Provider (ASP) of customer care and billing
for the utility industry, yesterday received the Nebraska Edgerton
Award for Quality Improvement, which is patterned after the Malcolm
Baldrige National Quality Awards.
Orcom's Customer Service Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska was evaluated
and recognized for its outstanding service. It is from this facility
that Orcom delivers its ASP and business process management services,
including call center operations, remittance processing, credit
and collections, and bill print and mail services. The Edgerton
Award application process included a site visit in which independent
observers monitored areas such as customer satisfaction, human resource
utilization, adaptation of technology, and process management. These
and other aspects of Orcom's operations underwent a quality review
to: determine the methodology employed, ensure its consistency,
and evaluate its results.
"Because of the tremendous responsibility we have to our Clients,
it is our goal to be the best at what we do. An award like this
is another step in validating our approach. This award is not just
for us, but for the Clients that we represent," said Len Tanner,
Orcom Director of Client Operations.
Nebraska Governor Mike Johanns presented the award to Orcom executives
in Blair, Nebraska, as part of Nebraska Business and Industry Day.
"The feedback we receive from the Edgerton Award will be invaluable
in helping us continue to improve," Tanner said. "Customers
are demanding more from their service providers, and Orcom is constantly
working to improve the quality of customer service we provide for
our Clients. Achieving this recognition does not complete our mission,
it is simply a checkpoint along the way."
The Edgerton Award for Quality Improvement was founded to recognize
outstanding quality achievements in Nebraska, encourage continuous
quality improvement among companies in the state, and advance the
development of new technologies and products.
