AGA/EEI Energy IT Conference

American Gas Association, Edison Electric
Institute, and The McGraw-Hill Companies to Partner on IT Conference
and Expo for the Utility and Energy Industry
NEW YORK, NY., April 10, 2000 /PRNewswire/ - The McGraw-Hill
Companies' (NYSE: MHP) industry leading magazine, Utilities IT,
today announced that it will partner with the American Gas Association
(AGA) and the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) to produce the annual
AGA/EEI Energy IT Conference and Exposition. The next conference
and exposition is scheduled November 5-7, 2000 in Phoenix, Ariz.
"We are proud to take this next step and combine the best
minds and resources of the electric and gas industry with the resources
of The McGraw- Hill Companies, the largest energy information provider
in the world. This will take the AGA/EEI Energy IT show to the next
level for participants and for exhibitors," says Gary Gardner,

Utilities IT and The McGraw-Hill Companies will work with the AGA/EEI
Technology Advisory Council to develop the conference program. "The
newly formed AGA/EEI Technology Advisory Council provides us with
unparalleled access to the thoughts and minds of Chief Information
Officers in the energy industry, and will help us deliver a top-quality
program," said Bob Schwieger, VP/Editorial Director of McGraw-Hill
Energy Magazines.
The announcement coincides with an internal reorganization at McGraw-Hill
that makes Utilities IT -- and its sister publication Global Energy
Business-- a part of the Platt's division. Platt's is the largest
provider of energy information services in the world. Toreflect
expanded coverage both within the magazine and at the AGA/EEI Energy
IT Conference, Utilities IT, published by The McGraw-Hill Companies
and The Geospatial Information & Technology Association, will
be renamed Energy IT as of the May/June issue.
