Wisconsin Public Service Corporation Selects Enercom to Offer Online Energy Usage Information to Customers

GREEN BAY, WI., January 13, 2000 - Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC) has chosen Enercom, an organization specializing in Internet-based energy application gateways, to provide its Energy DepotŪ gateways to Public Service's residential customers. The program helps utility customers understand how they currently use energy and what they can do to use it more efficiently. Public Service's site can be accessed at www.wpsr.com

"We've established an effective communications link with customers via the Internet," said Phil Zehren, mass market planning leader of the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based electric and gas utility. "We think Enercom's industry-leading software will help us in providing programs and information for our customers." Zehren added that WPSC chose Enercom because of the company's depth of experience and its ability to effectively interact with the utility's systems and staff.

Among the highlights of the energy information programs available online, customers can:

  • Complete a survey to get personal energy profiles.
  • Shop for energy-efficient programs.
  • Find out about electronic bill payment and presentment services (EBPP)
  • Compare rates and services of energy providers.
  • Search the Energy Library or ask the Energy Advisor for answers to energy-related questions.

"We're extremely pleased to work with Wisconsin Public Service," said President and CEO Paul Conlan. "Public Service is serious about providing excellent customer service, and we're happy to be helping them." Conlan said the Internet is becoming a preferred method of business communication. "Providing online energy information options for customers is one way organizations like Public Service can set themselves apart in the market," he said.
