City Utilities of Springfield Chooses SPL WorldGroup's CIS PLUS to Replace Legacy Customer Information System
New System to provide Increased Customer Service Capabilities and Flexibility for Future Growth

SAN FRANCISCO, CA., January 10, 2000 - SPL WorldGroup, Inc. (SPL), a leading international provider of information technology consulting and enterprise solutions, announced today that City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri, (CU) chose SPL's CIS PLUSİ solution to replace its legacy customer information system. This investment will give CU a significantly more flexible system that will upgrade its customer support services and arm it for future growth.

CIS PLUS is considered the premiere customer information system (CIS) for the utility industry worldwide. The solution includes both licensing fees and implementation services. The bulk of the project will commence January 2000.

We are proud that the SPL solution will meet CU's needs. CU is a multi-service utility with 92,000 customers, and more than 230,000 natural gas, electric, and water service points. The utility also bills customers for wastewater service provided by City of Springfield Public Works.

SPL's HP/UNIX system provides the functionality CU needs to Support their diverse operations and offers their customers exceptional levels of customer support.
