Excelergy Corporation Appoints
Jay Sherry Vice President of Marketing
Rapidly Growing Energy
E-Commerce Company Adds Experienced Marketing Executive
CAMBRIDGE, MA., September 20, 1999 – Excelergy, a
leader in application and transaction services for the energy market,
announced that Jay Sherry has joined the company as vice president
of marketing. Sherry will be responsible for all the marketing activities,
including product management, strategic alliances and market development
for Excelergy’s suite of billing and customer information software
and Energymarketplace.com, Excelergy’s newly acquired Internet-based
shopping center for energy. Energymarketplace.com provides consumers
with energy choice information and allows energy service providers
to respond to requests for proposal from energy customers over the
Internet.

In addition to energy Marketplace, Sherry will also be responsible
for marketing the company’s advanced software products, including
Excelergy ABP™ 1200 (Advanced Billing Platform), Excelergy eXACT™
(Electronic information transaction system) and Excelergy WERCS™
(Web-enabled Response Channel System) to the retail energy market.
Sherry brings to Excelergy over 20 years of wide-ranging computer
industry experience with a number of companies. Previously, he headed
up worldwide marketing for Kenan Systems, a $180M provider of enterprise
application software and services to the telecommunications industry.
He was a key contributor to Kenan’s ten-fold growth over the past
three years, culminating in its acquisition by Lucent Technologies.
Previously he worked for IBM for 13 years where among his responsibilities
was the brand management of the Netfinity PC Server and RS/6000
UNIX server product lines.
Sherry received a Sc.B. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University
and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
