FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Compuware and SFG Technologies Strengthen Partnership with the Signing of New Agreement

ATLANTA, GA., August 30, 1999 - SFG Technologies today announces the signing of a new agreement with Compuware Corporation that enhances its competitive advantage in the emerging North American deregulated utilities sector.

The agreement delivers two key benefits to SFG clients: implementation support through access to over 7,000 trained professionals for SFG’s Utility Management System (UMS) and the addition of Compuware’s Uniface WebApplication Server technology to the UMS.

This agreement further solidifies an existing 5-year partnership between the two companies through the Compuware Business Alliance Program. SFG Technologies chose Compuware’s Uniface development tool as the backbone for its UMS software application, because its high degree of scalability and flexibility exceeds the needs of the utilities market. This new phase of the partnership continues to strengthen SFG’s strategic direction within the utilities industry.

“Today’s announcement marks another very important phase in our long-term partnership with Compuware,” affirms Bruce Elliott, President & CEO of SFG Technologies Inc. “This partnership sustains our momentum in providing innovative, flexible, client-server based utility software that gives our customers the edge they need to stay competitive.”

Compuware continues to demonstrate leadership by producing leading-edge technology such as the UNIFACE WebApplication Server, that would allow UMS to Deliver on-line features such as bill payment and service orders.

SFG’s Utility Management System (UMS) integrated software can address a wide variety of functions including Customer Service, Requests for Service – Service Orders, Credit Collections and Deposits, Billing and Rate Management, Payment Processing, Meter Reading and Consumption. UMS is an extremely user-friendly tool that allows utilities to quickly and efficiently meet their customers’ needs.
