Allegheny Energy Supply Licenses
Excelergy Solutions
Energy services provider
makes choice based on product quality and experience
CAMBRIDGE, MA., July 6, 1999 - Allegheny Energy
Supply, a premier energy services provider in the newly deregulated
Pennsylvania market, has licensed three customer interface solutions
from Excelergy, a leading provider of billing and customer care
software. Allegheny selected the developer's flagship product Excelergy
ABP 1200*, a convergent billing solution for energy services and
products, along with the new Excelergy WERCS* and Excelergy EDITS*
products, to Support its primary mission - serving customers.
"Excelergy has been part of the deregulation environment in
Pennsylvania from the beginning," says Jerry Cribbs, director of
budgets and accounting at Allegheny Energy Supply. "That industry
experience, paired with a quality system that works, are the chief
reasons we chose Excelergy. We needed a strategic partner that understands
the complex issues, such as the various EDC rules, and has the applied
technology to Handle it. In the end, Excelergy is relieving us of
this information burden so we can focus on and provide the best
service to our customers, our first priority."
The new relationship with Allegheny Energy Supply marks a marketshare
milestone for Excelergy.
"With Allegheny joining our three other large customers in Pennsylvania,
Excelergy is now the market leader for Pennsylvania, the largest
deregulated energy market in the country," says Cary Bullock, president
and founder of
Excelergy. "We are also serving two of the three utility affiliates
in Maryland. From this perspective, I feel that we stand at the
forefront of providing companies with the billing and customer care
solutions they need to compete in the energy industry today."
According Tories, the reason Excelergy has gained ground over competitors
is clear. He cites product quality and innovation as key points.
"In comparison to a variety of systems available, I found Excelergy
to be the only provider offering a solution that not only works,
but also employs the latest technology, such as electronic data
interchange and e-commerce," adds Cribbs. "With this kind of functionality,
I know we will have an advantage."
