Excelergy Releases New EDI
Operating Support System
System boosts service level performance,
customer choice management and profitability
ORLANDO, FL. May 24, 1999 - Excelergy, a leading
provider of billing and customer care software, today announced
a new addition to its suite of customer-centric solutions - Excelergy(
EDITS (Electronic Data Interchange Transmission System). Energy
retailers, marketers and local distribution companies (LDCs) can
run traditional customer care and billing solutions on this new
operating support system, which uses an efficient EDI engine compliant
with national standards, to cost effectively manage customer choice,
increase service levels and improve profitability.
The most important business benefit for energy service providers
(ESPs) and local distribution companies that employ Excelergy EDITS
is the system's ability to improve management of third-party relationships.
This has been an industry wide problem that EDITS addresses by lowering
transaction costs and facilitating operational processes. Also,
Excelergy EDITS is fully compatible and integrates with Excelergy's
ABP 1200, a convergent billing solution for energy services and
products.
"Excelergy understands the market need to transform traditional
utility information systems to accommodate the huge demands of new,
deregulated business processes," said Cary Bullock, president
of Excelergy. "Therefore, we have chosen to develop an EDI
operating support system that can bridge the gap between the past
and present, the simple and complex. And it does so with greater
speed, efficiency and accuracy than ever
before."
Customers, LDCs and ESPs all benefit from Excelergy EDITS' ability
to integrate large amounts of complex data among the entities. The
system creates comprehensive customer profiles that enable ESPs
and LDCs to service customer needs more efficiently and quickly,
with greater accuracy and data integrity, but fewer service errors.
"Demands on customer care staff and transaction costs will
fall, while customer satisfaction and profitability will rise,"
adds Bullock. "All of this means greater opportunity for an
organization to garner a competitive advantage in this deregulated
market."
As the leading provider of customer care solutions, Excelergy's
other products include ABP 1200, a convergent billing solution for
energy services and products, Retail Operations Manager, a integrated
risk management application, and WERCS, a Web-enabled customer self-service
center. Excelergy's product suite is the only EDI-compatible system
currently available for the retail energy markets. For more information,
