Omaha Public Power District Selects CIS Plus System from SPL Worldgroup for Replacement of Customer Information Systems
New System to Provide Increased Customer Service Capabilities

SAN FRANCISCO, CA., April 26, 1999 – SPL WorldGroup, Inc. (SPL), a leading international provider of information technology consulting and enterprise solutions, today announced that Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) has chosen SPL's CIS PLUS ®, the premier customer information system for utility companies, to Upgrade its customer support service. One of the largest publicly owned electric utilities in the United States, OPPD had conducted an extensive review process which identified SPL's solution as the system most adapted to its goal of providing support that exceeds customer expectations.

“When it comes to a service as fundamental as electricity, top quality customer care is vital and that is why this was a crucial decision for OPPD,” said Tim Burke, vice president, Energy Services, at OPPD. “We believe we can rely on CIS PLUS to help us better care for our customers and reinforce OPPD's image as a customer-focused company.”

Once CIS PLUS is installed OPPD customers will benefit from its immense flexibility. The system is designed to put a wealth of customer information directly on-screen for customer service representatives. With this new data available at their fingertips, customer service representatives anticipate being able to answer calls and provide information more rapidly to Customers.

Using CIS PLUS OPPD customer service also expects to have to transfer fewer calls to other divisions within the organization for follow-up and to be able to Deliver on the company goal of exceeding customer expectations when it comes to Support. In addition, OPPD plans to take advantage of CIS PLUS to add and promote new services more rapidly, something that was not easily achievable with their current system.

Today's announcement further reinforces SPL's leadership in supplying customer support software to the utilities industry. It comes hot on the heels of a multi-million dollar contract with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, announced last month, and adds to the list of fifteen other utilities companies around the world that now use SPL's CIS PLUS software and services to Support customer needs.

OPPD anticipates implementing the new system during the year 2000, as part of its work to remain the preferred electricity provider to its customer base.
