SCT and IBM Complete Accelerated Implementation of Banner Customer Management System

COLUMBIA, SC., September 29, 1998 - SCT Utility Systems, a division of Systems & Computer Technology Corp. (SCT) (Nasdaq:SCTC), announced today that, working with IBM, it has successfully brought on line its Banner Customer Management System for PG&E Energy Services in only four months -- 2 weeks ahead of schedule and significantly faster than any other installation of its kind in the energy industry.

The Banner System, which serves as a central repository for customer information, calculates invoices and tracks customer payments, was implemented through an agreement with IBM to develop a scaleable electronic platform designed to Enhance PG&E Energy Services' customer service capabilities nationwide. IBM's Business Process Management provides PG&E Energy Services with end-to-end services for customer acquisition and customer care, leveraging the capabilities of the Banner System.
