Aquilium Signs Billing Contract
in West Virginia
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE., July 17, 1998- Aquilium Software
Corporation today announced that it has signed an ongoing agreement
with the Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) in West Virginia.
The contract, worth US $422,825 (C$626,800) in the first year and
US $31,125 in annual maintenance, is the culmination of the utility's
nine-month search for a new business information system (BIS).
Aquilium will implement its Year 2000-compliant, customer information,
billing and accounting system and go "live" during the
first quarter of 1999.
"We're a very progressive utility, concerned primarily with
serving our customers the best way we can," said Tim Stranko,
General Counsel at MUB. "We knew that there was technology
available to help us to do our job better and Aquilium's software
was the solution that fit us best."
"After we examined the 12 vendors who submitted proposals,
and interviewed the three finalists, we chose Aquilium unanimously,"
said Stranko. "We were really impressed with Aquilium's people,
with their competency, expertise and ability to implement the program."
Stephen Pate, Aquilium President and CEO, said "our product
is a perfect match for the size and needs of this utility."
By way of background, he noted, Morgantown is typical of several
thousand U.S. utilities.
